The Long Beach Community College District (commonly referred to as Long Beach City College) promotes equitable student learning and achievement, academic excellence, and workforce development by delivering high quality educational programs and support services to our diverse communities. LBCCD is governed by a five-member, publicly-elected Board of Trustees. Approximately 25,000 students attend the two campus community college. The District’s service area covers approximately 128 square miles, including the cities of Long Beach, Lakewood, Avalon, and Signal Hill. Each of the college’s five trustees provides governing oversight on behalf of their service area. The LBCCD Trustee Area 1 covers the Bixby Knolls and North Long Beach service area.
